Terrible Joy

No Mrs Tan tuition today.

I managed to come online today because of my sejarah project. We had Scrabble practice today and we kind of missed assembly. That mere half-an-hour got me, Wan Jyn, Alynna, Kar May and Joseph Loh (2 Balau) into trouble. We were in the library practicing Scrabble. At the end of the practice, which made us miss assembly, Joseph and I offered to put back the Scrabble sets on Pn Angie's table. I went out of the library and Joseph asked me to wait for him cos' he wanted to get his bag from inside the library (trainee librarians!!). When he came out, the students just started dismissing from the hall. We rushed down to the teacher's staffroom but we were 1 minute too late!!!!!! We reached there and manages to put the Scrabble set on Pn Angie's table. Unfortunately, she caught us and I think our slow reaction made her suspicious. Then, she questioned both of us about whether we were there during assembly. Oh yeah, sure, I wanted to lie....but seriously, if it was true, both of us would have answered simultaneously and wouldn't need to look at each other. So, we decided to tell the truth. It's the truth...so no big deal....YEAH RIGHT!!!! That was the worst thing both of us could have EVER done!!!!

Pn Angie told me to call all the rest of those who so-called "PONTENG PERHIMPUNAN". Then all 5 of us got scolding in front of the teacher's room. That wasn't too bad. After that graceful scolding, Pn Wong wanted to see Wan Jyn. THAT was bad. Apparently, they found out that Wan Jyn wasn't at assembly because he was supposed to be in charge of the PA thingy. After his dose of "medicine", the other 4 soldiers had to face the most-feared teacher in the afternoon session. Pn Wong wrote our names in the "Blacklisted Book" and straightaway put "Amaran terakhir" (last warning) eventhough all 4 of us had squeaky clean records before this. That was really really unfair. We were also made to fill in and sign a form about our wrongdoing. Pn Wong said high chance I might be fired as a prefect. That's stupid. I only missed ONE assembly and it's not like I have NEVER appeared for assembly once. It was just a half-an-hour anyway!! She said that I did not do my job which was supposed to be carried out in the hall. Wow....what job do I have??? Standing behind the students and telling them to sit down and keep quiet!!!! Now, call that an important and good job!!! We were then dismissed with our holy names written in that big, black, cursed book. Half-an-hour of an extended Scrabble game ruined my clean all-schooling-life record. Joseph seemed innocent too. We were all treated like out-laws!!!! It's like we attempted a high-rated murder in that 35 extra minutes spent playing Scrabble.

In fact, the truth was, we didn't even know it would be this serious. Even when Wan Jyn and I were prefects, we never dreamt something like this could happen. It's preposterous. During recess time, Wan Jyn and I went to see Pn Choong (as requested by Pn Wong). How I wish we have never went to see her. She didn't know what we did.....until we told her!!!! She only knew about Wan Jyn!!!!!! And thanks to ours smart yet "streetdumb" minds, we told her about the whole thing. Then, we had to fill up a stupid form. All thanks to 35 minutes????????After the filling up of that form, we didn't really worry much anymore.

After school, I met Jospeh. Guess what? He complained to Pn Ruth!!!!! He told me that he felt it was unfair to suddenly give us a "Last warning" when our records were clean before this. So he complained to Pn Ruth during his English lesson with her. She said she was going to talk to Pn Wong about this. Hopefully Wan Jyn's heart is right that Pn Ruth CAN help us after all......
